Club
Profile
In this ever-expanding and ever-changing Universe, Rotary also
has to expand, and extend its influence to every nook and corner
of the world. Such extension would automatically result in the
growth of more and more new Clubs with more new, energetic, and

Club decided to sponsor one more Rotary Club in the fast-growing
city of Coimbatore besides
the already-existent Coimbatore West Rotary Club, and the preliminary
meeting was held on the 18th. under the Chairmanship of Rtn.
Past President Major N.Krishnaswamy, who was the Governor’s
Special Representative, with eight Rotarians from the Coimbatore
Rotary Club, who resolved to name the new Club the “Coimbatore
Mid-Town Rotary Club”.

(now PDG) – President,

as the GGR, and the Club Charter bearing number 15843 was received
from Rotary International on the 2nd. of May, 1973.
From such humble beginnings, the Club has now grown to a strength
of 64 active Members, besides taking on the new name "Rotary
Club of Coimbatore Mid Town", as directed by Rotary International,
and has touched the lives of millions of people, not only in
the city of Coimbatore, but all over the world, especially in
the Phillipines and in Sri Lanka, where projects like Artificial
Limb Camps and Bore-well sinking, have been conducted under the
aegis of our Club.
Service to Mankind is Service to God” has
always been the motivating factor behind all the major and minor
projects
of the Club, and Rotarians take pride in calling themselves Members
of this prestigious Club in Rotary International District 3200.
